Rock and mineral collection

I have a newfound fascination with rocks and crystals, mostly due to Alexander who feels the need to investigate, touch and feel every piece of rock he stumbles upon, and partly thanks to a small collection my parents gave to me last year like this boxed set of Australian minerals, for example. Since then I've been given a couple, found some and bought a few more, and quite frankly, I'm finding it hard to stop.
A couple of my best buds gave me a volcanic rock they picked up from a recent trip to Iceland (not bought, but picked up from the actual volcano), so that was pretty cool. My father-in law, gave me a hunk of a rock (granite) which such beautiful details and a myriad of colours which he found during his solo road trip to the Northern Territory. I found the pumice at the Northern beaches (they were strewn all  over the beach actually, supposedly due to an underwater volcanic eruption off New Zealand).

Then last week I innocently walked into a crystal shop for a 'quick look' and ended up with a few more to add to my collection; an argonite star cluster, clear quartz, rainbow fluorite and amethyst geodes. I just love the way light bounces off the difference points on them and how pretty they look in general.

So neat to have a collection of rocks and minerals that both you and little A have a liking to!

So cool that you started a collection. I have heard that crystals have different healing powers and I have a couple of bracelets and stones at home.

Your mineral collection looks great and they are precious. Your son will learn a lot from them even when he gets older.

Our son loved collecting rocks and has a nice little collection. It also includes rocks with fossils, too. Those are so interesting to look at for little folks, especially. Our little Amdy is 22 now and his collection is still pretty special to him. Your collection is awesome! Enjoy!!

The large ones are so nice! And I also love having an agate slice or druzy necklace. Like a rock collection on your neck.
