I have a newfound fascination with rocks and crystals, mostly due to Alexander who feels the need to investigate, touch and feel every piece of rock he stumbles upon, and partly thanks to a small collection my parents gave to me last year like this boxed set of Australian minerals, for example. Since then I've been given a couple, found some and bought a few more, and quite frankly, I'm finding it hard to stop.
A couple of my best buds gave me a volcanic rock they picked up from a recent trip to Iceland (not bought, but picked up from the actual volcano), so that was pretty cool. My father-in law, gave me a hunk of a rock (granite) which such beautiful details and a myriad of colours which he found during his solo road trip to the Northern Territory. I found the pumice at the Northern beaches (they were strewn all over the beach actually, supposedly due to an underwater volcanic eruption off New Zealand).

Then last week I innocently walked into a crystal shop for a 'quick look' and ended up with a few more to add to my collection; an argonite star cluster, clear quartz, rainbow fluorite and amethyst geodes. I just love the way light bounces off the difference points on them and how pretty they look in general.
