Geelong weekender

We've just returned from a weekender to Geelong, Victoria where we caught up with a few of our really good friends, including Alexander's God-daddies. Geelong is a beautiful coastal town and we were very lucky with the weather (sunshine, warm temps) so we got to swim, enjoy a BBQ dinner, hang out at the beach and we even visited a beautiful farm property belonging to our friend's parents. Here are some photos from our trip...
We stayed at a comfortable 1 bedroom apartment, a mere minute stroll to the beach, so on the first morning, we had a little picnic breakfast by the water and did all the obligatory beachy things (picked shells, dig in the sand, dip toes in water).
The best part of our trip was the afternoon spent at our friend's parent's very beautiful farm Picture a tree lined driveway leading to an immaculate property dotted with oak trees looking all pretty with their cascading branches. We sat under one for tea (as you do).
Afterwards we were given a very special tour of the farm and fed the horse and ponies and cattle, and met their extensive poultry collection which included peacocks, chooks, guinea fowls, pheasants, ducks and geese.
Alexander even got to sit in a tractor! What a treat.
We had a wonderful time and already counting down the days till we catch up with our friends again when they visit next month.

Not pictured: Alexander screaming "Help! Help!" for 1.5 hours on the plane because he did not like being buckled in.

Also not pictured: Alexander up at 1am, proclaiming "Morning!" and wanting to go out to play.

This sounds like an awesome adventure! One of the most 'requested' activities from kids visiting our farm is to sit in the tractor. Bet Alexander will remember this trip for a long time. You'll remember those last couple, too! ;) zenda
