Conversations with my two year old

After 20 months of silence, Alexander now won't shut up.
Me: How old are you?
2yo: TWO! (Pauses and then looks up with a cheeky grin) Four?

Me: Let's count.
2yo: Two, four, two, four, two four

Me: What did your fish do?
2yo: Jump!
Me: And what happened?
2yo: Dead. (True story, by the way)

Me: What colour is the banana?
2yo: Yoyo .

Me, driving: What can you see?
2yo: Trucks!!! Big!!! More!!! Cooooool.

OH my gosh, I'm SO far behind on blog reading...can't believe how big Alexander has gotten, and that he's talking! Glad to hear how it's pretty normal to go 20 months without saying much, but not having anything wrong. My 13 month old doesn't really say anything at all except for some babbling that's fairly recent. I know I have a while to go before being worried but I've been hearing more and more stories of late talkers (particularly boys). Alexander is SO CUTE!!!

Hard to believe that he is already two years old! It must be so fun to see the world with and through the eyes of a child, I guess it changes one's own perspective of many things.

haha! That sounds like my nephew. He started late in talking too but now he is 4 yrs old and doesn't stop talking from the moment he wakes up till he actually falls asleep. I know it drives my sister in law and brother crazy especially when they are together 24 hrs. Enjoy it!

Haha. Cute conversation. I love this age when they learn to talk and copy what you say and do.

LOL! I know exactly what you mean. Charles is non-stop with the talking too. Everything is "funny" (his adjective for all things that are fun) — every other min, he exclaims whatever he is doing is "funny", and to his credit, it sounds like he is having fun all day everyday 24/7. LOL!

Oh wow! You guys actually sound like you have some interesting conversations. It could be worse, he could insist on saying "banana" and nothing else.

HA! This brings back such special memories for me!! Our daughter was a non-stop talker ... until her brother showed up. Once he started talking, she stopped - or slowed down a whole lot. They are both grown now (25 and 22). I remember those days of short sentences, though! Enjoy that little fellow!!!

Aww, he's such a darling. It's amazing how they grow so fast. My 1 year and a half daughter is in her baby language stage and she blabs away talking to an imaginary person holding a remote control as her mobile phone.
