Movie watch list

Stu and I watched Gone Girl last night and it was crazy good. I'd read the book and loved it and then rented the DVD  expecting to be disappointed, as I normally am with book-movie adaptations, but was very very pleasantly surprised.
Since Alexander's arrival over 17 months ago, Stu and I have been watching a lot of movies on DVD in lieu of going to the movies. And it's actually pretty cool. We don't have to worry about getting a babysitter, we are decked out in our comfiest pajamas and if either of us are tired, we just hit the stop button and continue the next evening. Perfecto.

So when Warner Bros Australia asked me to share a few movies I'm putting on my watch list, I thought 'why not?'. So here goes, these are a few titles I have lined up...
The Hunger Games, Mockingjay Part 1 - I was absolutely hooked on the books and would stay up till stupid hours in the morning reading them. It's been great to see the books come alive on the screen and Jennifer Lawrence is just so awesome to watch. I love watching her romance with Peeta develop...do you feel the same?

Crazy, Stupid, Love - I love a bit of light hearted romantic comedy from time to time and this has received some pretty good reviews.

Magic in the Moonlight - I'm a sucker for any film by Woody Allen, so even though this has been dissed by many, I still going on my watch list.

Chef - I love food and any movie with food as theme is a must see for me. This one is extra cool because it revolves a food truck and stars Scarlett Johansson.

The Lunchbox - A romance that revolves around food? I'm in.

The Hundred Foot Journey- Indian versus French food; this has been touted as a movie bursting with flavour. This one is definitely for me.

Have you seen any of the above movies? What's on your movie watch list?

We also rent a lot of DVDs or order on-demand. Still cheaper than a babysitter + movie tickets! Though we DID see Mockingjay: Part 1 on opening night in theatres because we just HAD to. I've seen Crazy Stupid Love -- it was "alright" funny. I heard great things about "Chef". It's on my list.

Gone Girl is sooo on my watch list!

I actually prefer to watch movies in the comfort of our home as well. We can grab healthier snacks and drinks whenever we want to from the kitchen, pause the movie for bathroom breaks, and Louie, our pup, gets to snuggle with us too. Seems like a win-win! :) The only problem is, we have too many movies on our watch list and never seem to get around to it. We want to watch Boyhood, The Theory of Everything, Big Hero 6,and The Wolf of Wall Street to name a few.

I must admit I quite fancy Gone Girl too. I've heard a few people saying it's really good :-)

LOL I don't know any of these films you've listed :-|

My and the husband enjoy watching films together. We are quite geeky so it tends to be the superhero films like the Marvel ones. We watched Interstellar last week and I was blown away by it - such an amazing film. I recommend that :-D

This is a great list. I've watched Hunger Games and Chef already and enjoyed both. I think I'll go for the 100-foot Journey next! It sounds really interesting. :)

Since being poorer than normal of late, Ben and I have been staying in as well more times than not - how expensive are the movies! Haven't seen any of those movies, will have to check them out :)

First of all, that photo of Alexander is so adorable!
And I absolutely agree with you about the movies, so much easier to do it at home with kids! A friend recommended Magic in the Moonlight so I want to see that :-) And Mockingjay is on my list too, together with The Maze Runner, The Fault in Our Stars, and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Mark and I just watched Gone Girl last night (via a Netflix video)! We loved it! We joked about it being a strange film to cozy up to on Valentine's Day, but we truly enjoyed it! T.http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

@Tina glad you enjoyed it, even though it's not the most romantic movie is it?!

Crazy, Stupid, Love - Adding it

Magic in the Moonlight - I'm a sucker for any film by Woody Allen, so even though this has been dissed by many, I still going on my watch list.

Chef - So good. I've been recommending it to everyone. I caution you though, you will seriously be craving Cuban food by the end.

The Lunchbox - I LOVED it. The ending is left to interpretation but I still totally dug it.

The Hundred Foot Journey- On my list
