Winter beauty essentials

Winter officially arrived on Sunday and boy, it was a cold miserable wet start to the season, the type of day that calls for time spent indoors by a crackling fireplace enjoying a slow cooked meal (which we did). After a particularly rough weekend (sick puppy, fussy baby), I thought it was also time to bring out the super rich creams and lotions, as well as hair products to give my dry skin and frizzy hair a little treat. Here are my top beauty picks for winter:
Antipodes 'Joyful' hand and body cream - I cannot decide what I love most about this cream; its heavenly scent that brings me to a faraway tropical island or its luxurious velvety texture. Maybe it's a tie. But fact is, it leaves my skin smelling and feeling gorgeous.
The Jojoba Company gentle cleansing balm - Not sure if it's hormones or if I'm just plain aging, but my skin has become extra sensitive of late, to the point where I had to stop using rinse off or foaming cleansers of any sort. I've turned instead to this silky creamy balm and tissue it off (though you can rinse off too) and my skin absolutely loves it.

The Jojoba Company 100% australian jojoba -  Did you know that jojoba can be used to moisturise the face, body, hands nails, hair and lips? This multipurpose product is my go-to product for days when I just can't be bothered to apply a multitude of products.
Shu Uemura cleansing oil shampoo - Not only does this provides relief for my dry flaky scalp, this gently foamy shampoo also does not strip my hair of moisture after a wash. Bonus: it has a beautiful scent that transports me to the deep of the forest.

Shu Uemura moisture velvet conditioner - With the temperatures dropping, I really need something super rich to keep my hair nourished and hydrated. Just one pump of this helps keep the frizz away.
Invisible zinc tinted daywear - It's a sunscreen, moisturiser and sheer foundation in one handy tube, perfect for a time-poor mum like me. I love how easy it is to use; I don't even need a mirror to put it on! I have dry skin and this feels lovely and smooth on. It has very light coverage, so on days when I like to look a bit more polished I add a bit of pressed powder and blush to finish. This is how it looks:
What are your beauty picks for this season?

trishie!! hello :) it's been such a long time - I've been off blogging for a little while but I'm inching my way (slowly) back into things. I'm in the process of setting a few things up (a store, a website and a platform for my blog) so it's all exciting and a little time consuming :)

So nice to be back on your page. I have so much to catch up on, especially how your little bundle of joy is coming along. I remember the journey leading up to your pregnancy.:) looking forward to being in touch.

They all sound delicious (mmm, maybe wrong choice of words!) Winter is definitely the time to treat yourself, I get that awful dried hands and lips problem in the colder months. I think I'm going to unfortunately miss your wonderful Floral Friday this month :( We literally move tomorrow and life has been crazy busy, too busy to blog!! Hopefully things settle over the next few weeks :)

Gosh that hand cream sounds and looks divine! I love any hand cream with shea butter in it. In fact I bought one from The Body Shop and promptly misplaced it about a month after I bought it. And that was a year and a half ago and it has yet to turn up!

I wanna try all these products, esp the antipodes hand cream. I didn't know Shu Uemura has a cleansing oil shampoo - how interesting! I am a big fan of invisible zinc and always buy a tube when I'm in Oz. I did see the tinted version and wondered how it would fare on my skin - your photo makes me wanna try it!! On my wish list... You look fantastic, girl!
