Sydney fresh food markets, Flemington. Finally, I understand why people are willing to forsake a perfectly good weekend sleep-in in exchange for prime time shopping at the markets. The buzz and liveliness of the markets, the rows and rows of beautiful, bright fruit and vegetables, the freshness of the produce, the noise; it was all so infectious, so exciting and so much fun.
I ended up with the beautiful sweet mangoes (for $1 each!), the juiciest lychees I've had in a long while, yummy dried dates, grapes, cherries, and most gorgeous dark purple heirloom tomatoes. I've honestly never been one to get excited about food shopping, but that morning, I was simply thrilled with my purchases.
