We're at the end of 2012! I am so excited about the New Year and all the adventures it may bring. I wish you a very wonderful new year ahead - full of love, happiness and delights!

12 things I wanted to do for 2012? I thought this might be a good time for a recap. Shall we?
One hot summer's day, some 12 months ago, I...
Decided to celebrate being a girly girl and wear lots of dresses. How I've enjoyed the ease of slipping dresses on day after day, twirling unabashedly. Summer months of
January and
February were the best for dress wearing of course, though I persevered in the colder months with some of my
winter dresses.
Started
my very own vegetable patch and I was finally able to use herbs and vegetables from garden to kitchen. The vegetable patch also gave rise to
the herbarium series (to be continued in 2013!), where I play virtual botanist.
Tried
52 new recipes - one for each week of the year. Now I have a wonderful stockpile of recipes I can fall back on for dinner ideas.
Watched ballet - both classical and modern, and decided I prefer the former. I love the tutus, the tragic stories, the spins, the lifts, the music.
Baked cakes, like
this berry nice cake,
marble cake,
apple tea cake and
apricot slice.
Got serious about literature and
read the classics.
Welcomed home a much loved mini long hair dachshund,
Frankie.
Smelled about a gazillion
roses, both literally and figuratively.
Hosted dinner parties.
Drank champagne (sometimes for no good reason),
and I found the best champagne that I could afford and drink it. I'm still standing by Vintage Dom).
And lastly, went on a magical hot air balloon ride.
I couldn't have done it without you! I'll admit now, there were times I was going to quit, but then you encouraged me through your comments and gave me the motivation to keep going and here I am - 12 things completed. Thank you for supporting me through 2012. I look forward to another fabulous year together.
