In the past 46 weeks, I tried 46 new recipes - one for each week as part of my
12 things for 2012.
The last 8 recipes were quite varied - pasta, curries, baked chicken and so on. The one dish I had the most 'fun' with was the meatloaf. Can I just say, I have never in my life tasted meatloaf before - the result of growing up in Singapore, I suppose. To me, it just seemed like such an old-fashioned and foreign dish; something I had only ever seen served up in a Hollywood movie. So it was a bit of a novelty for me to actually make it and serve it in my own home.

Do you realise we're only 6 weeks away from 2013? The thought both excites and scares me. I feel excitement because there's only 6 more new recipes to source and try before I finally tick off my list and celebrate with champagne! Scared because I cannot believe how quickly time has flown past and I find myself wondering if I have done enough and lived well enough.
Well, at least I can say I did
these 12 things.
What about you? Have you ticked off your resolutions?

Beautiful dishes! I admire your passion for cooking. Yes, it's hard to believe that 2012 is almost done. I find that the best way to stick to resolutions is to focus on them daily and take the first step in the now. xo
I can't believe this year is almost over... that's crazy!!!
How fun that you were able to accomplish your 12 things! And I dare say with a lot of style, because all those dishes look incredibly well presented and tasty :)
I had no idea we were that close to 2013... oh my!

Wow Trishie, all of those dishes look so delicious. It feels good when you are achieving your goals isn't it? That's why I enjoy your blog,it's because you set realistic goals and you do your best to achieve them. Maybe I should think about my list of 12 things. I am glad you liked the award. Thanks for your kind comments in my blog.
Oh That meatloaf looks so good! I can't even remember my resolutions...how bad is that?!
What a great idea your 12 things is. I try to cook a different recipe each week but sometimes the old faithful wins in the end when I come home from work and Im too tired to think I just want to cook and eat! I havent made meatload before either but it is on my list of things to try! Your dishes look delicious :)
Nice round-up, Trish! I would like to try the pumpkin curry; sounds interesting!
Drool!!! They all look yummy! Don't think I've had steam pork and egg. Meatloaf is a nice go-to dish and you can do so much with it, I think:p Looking forward to see the last 6 dishes:)
Only 52 weeks in a year. That is always scary.
I used to enjoy making meatloaf! But not anymore since coming to Switzerland -- finding minced chicken or turkey has been very challenging!
that is SO cool how you kept your resolutions for 2012... so legit! all of your dishes look AMAZING. restaurant worthy, for sure. did you end up liking meatloaf? i don't really like it even though i grew up in the states, but the husband does, so i make it from time to time. your curries look really good too! do feel free to share the recipes if you feel inclined :) i would love to try them!
Everything looked delicious!!! You can open your own restaurant soon..I have no idea how many weeks we are going to 2013..and you reminded me.Yes,is scary yet exciting for future.Happy day, dear

So many good meals. So, when are you coming over to my house to cook??!!
Such an interesting and fun goal to add to the list. I love pumpkin curry, that looks delicious!
Those dishes look amazing! Whenever I try a new recipe it's always something pretty mundane and boring. I should take a leave out of your book!

Your resolution is so cool! You remind me of Julie & Julia ^-^ All the food you made looks so good and looking at them made me so hungry. I have never tried western meatloaf before. I have only had chinese style steamed meat patties. LOL
I didn't actually make a list of resolution for 2012. I think I need to start thinking of my resolutions for 2013. I can't believe it's only weeks away now.

All the dishes look so yummy!! You're so talented, can make so many delicious dishes. :D
I like this idea of trying a new recipe a week, it means you don't always eat the same things which sometimes we can do or at least lately since I'm feeling a little tired of the meal planning. I haven't done so well this year with my resolutions sadly.
Can I ship you to South Africa and keep you as my personal cook?
I might get a bit fat, but hey, it will be well worth it!
All these looks delicious.
Have a couple of books I want to finish before 2012 is up.
A mad dash to the finish!
I definitely ticked off starting a blog, so I am super happy about that, lol. These look amazing!
You know, I never had meatloaf until I made it for myself either and I really liked it :)
I am the worst cook but I absolutely love looking at food blogs and recipeS
These dishes all look delicious, I admire your dedication to trying a new recipe a week. Looking forward to your future dishes. So how did the meatloaf turn out? It's crazy to think we're only 6 weeks away from 2013.
