Palmer's Body care

While I am no stranger to Palmer's brand of body care products, I'll admit that I have on occasions, spent way too much time at the beauty aisle, trying to determine just which one is the right product for my skincare needs. Then of course, I give up and play a game of eeny meeny miney mo and hope that what I've picked actually works.
Luckily, the nice people at Palmer's sent me a whole bunch of their body lotions so I was able to test each one out and tell you all about it. Here's the low down (from the left to the right of picture):

Daily Calming Lotion - I was really eager to try this as it promised to sooth severely dry, itchy skin - which is exactly what my skin was feeling after the cold winter months! This lotion felt super nice on my parched skin and was absorbed almost immediately. And it did not feel greasy at all. This is a very effective body lotion. It smells very different from the original cocoa butter formula - which was a plus in my books.

Olive Butter Formula Lotion - I love the smell of this product - fresh and delicate. It also does a superb job of moisturing the skin. I massage this all over my body after a shower and I find it is absorbed quickly even though it feels quite rich. Not greasy at all once absorbed. Wonderful product.

Shea Butter Formula - Creamy and rich formula which works really well on dry skin. The scent is delightfully citrusy. Very lovely product and consistency is slightly richer that olive butter which my skin loves. This is my favourite body lotion of the lot - definitely recommend for dry skin.

Cocoa Butter Formula SPF15 -This is the original cocoa butter formula and it has the richest, creamiest consistency of the body lotions tested but still it was absorbed rather quickly and easily. While it worked really well to hydrate my skin, I did not like the smell, which I thought was too strong. However, the SPF is an added bonus and if I had to choose between this and a sunscreen, I'd pick this anytime. Great for summer months when my arms and legs get more exposure to the sun.

Hydrating Gel Lotion - Very interesting consistency (a cross between a gel and lotion), which made it super light weight and instantly absorbed - love! I'm saving this for summertime use after a hot day out under the sun. Be warned though - the strong smell of cocoa butter takes a bit of getting used to.

Which one of these Palmer's formulas will you choose?

Cocoa butter is always so good. My mom used to buy the Vitamin E one all the time, I should start using it again!

I didn't know they did an SPF one, I'll have to keep an eye out for that for Summer.

At the moment, we only have a special massage one for babies with vitamin e, which I use on both my littlies.

Daily calming lotion sounds good. Especially now with the upcoming winter in Europe, I need to take extra care of my skin. I haven't seen this brand in Europe yet.

I actually love the smell of the original, it always reminds me of holidays! But I do find it a bit too thick for me for everyday, though it is great in the winter or when I've been in the sun. Really nice little review - I shall definitely be checking out the gel version! :)
