Sedwick Studio giveaway

To paint, one needs to have talent and skills of which I unfortunately do not have. I suspect my inability to paint is one of the reasons why I have always found paintings to be very inspiring. They say a lot about the artist's dedication, love for the art and the way he/she views the world.

But there is one thing I do know - which is to appreciate a beautiful painting when I come across one. At Sedwick Studios, I came across many.
These beautiful oil paintings are created by Sarah, the very talented artist of Sedwicks Studio. Sarah always paints from life and her subjects range from her neighbor's fresh chicken-eggs to floral bouquets or her morning cup of coffee (some of my favourite things!). I love how she has so cleverly created light, shadows and reflections of her subjects. It really does add dimention to every piece of oil painting and I am so amazed at how realistic they look.

How I wish Stu and I had a big house with high ceilings and plenty of wall space so I can cover them with paintings from Sedwicks Studio!

Now for some exciting news...
Peaches in a dish
One lucky reader of Under Lock and Key will soon have to find some wall space to make room for this lovely work of art, titled "Peaches in a dish" measuring 6x6 inches (Thanks Sarah!)

Now, wouldn't this look just perfect in your home?

For your chance to win, simply visit Sedwick Studios and tell me as a comment on this post which is your favourite painting before Friday 31st August 5pm EST.

This giveaway is open to readers worldwide but you must be a follower of my blog to enter. Extra entries if you blog/tweet/tell your friends about it, just let me know as a separate comment. Good luck!

PS: Sarah has a lovely blog here as well, if you like to visit. In this space, she talks about her daily inspiration and the stories behind each painting. I especially love looking as her work in progress pictures where I can see how she works her magic from sketch to finish. Ah, if only I could paint!
Update: And the winner if this giveaway is....Imogen Eve. Congrats! I will be in touch shortly. Thank you to everyone for playing!
