[A'kin]

For the past month, I have been using A'kin's Pure Alchemy Cellular Radiance Serum and Rose de mai Anti-oxidant Day Creme and I am happy to say that they have my a big tick of approval.
I have been very lucky to be blessed with good skin but even I know not to take it for granted. From when I was 15, I started a clean-tone-moisturise routine that worked well right through to my twenties.

Now that I'm in my (early) thirties, I realise I needed a bit more than the basic 3 step routine. My skin may look fine but I'm starting to find, especially in the cold winter months, that my skin sometimes feels like this dried up rose. And one of my greatest fear is that it'll start look it too. So I've recently started a new beauty routine.
First up, A'kin's Rose de mai Anti-oxidant Day Creme is my new secret weapon against aging. In the morning, after cleansing and toning, I apply a thin layer on my face before putting sunscreen on. The day cream smells delicately of roses and literally melts into the skin. It hydrates beautifully, without feeling oily and I absolutely love it.
Next, in my evening routine, I started to use Pure Alchemy Cellular Radiance Serum before my usual night cream. It smells quite strongly of pomegranate which I find it lovely and relaxing. It has become a nightly indulgence to take the time to massage it into my skin while taking deep breaths. With each exhalation, I imagine breathing the day's troubles away, making me feel calm and rejuvenated.
It's pretty amazing the difference just 2 additional little steps to my usual routine have made. My skin feels more hydrated, which in turn has added a nice healthy glow to my skin. Now if only there was a cream I could apply on my roses to keep them nice and fresh too!
What is your beauty routine? Has it changed over the years?

mmmm!!! i love pomegranate - it's such a great scent. glad too hear it wasn't too harsh - sometimes tart/acidic fruit products get to me.

Beautiful post and a couple of products I might try sometime. I have used the A'kin unscented hand cream for years and have been very pleased with it. Also their unscented shampoo suits our family's sensitive skins perfectly.

Loved reading your review. I never tried either of these products and I try a ton of things for my job as a beauty product developer. Would love to try both formulas. Thanks for sharing xoxo

Ohh these both sound fantastic! I'm always looking for something hydrating. I have normal to dry skin. I wonder if these are available in the US? I'll have a look. Thanks for sharing!

Rose-scented!!!
Unfortunately I don't clean-tone-moisturise... Is that bad?

Over the years my face is troubled with eczema, so I don't need more chemicals to irritate it :(

that sounds awesome! hydrating your skin is definitely super important!

That pomegranate serum sounds amazing! I use plain old cetaphil facial cleanser to wash my face, but now that I'm in my 30's I probably should ramp up my skin care routine!

Great to read that you take good care of your skin. The creams I use may change (I make sure I switch brands) but my routine is the same morning and evening: face wash (make-up remover at night) and sometimes I use an Estee Lauder serum, then day/night cream.

Wow--that Cellular Radiance Serum sounds lovely. Seabuckthorn, Chamomile, rosehip...all are absolutely amazing ingredients. I'm a little weary of oil serums though because I've only found 2 in my life that don't break out my oily, acne-prone skin (Caudalie and Kiehl's). But it sounds so dreamy, it's hard to resist! :P

You do have beautiful skin Trishie:) I like you have always had a skin routine, since I was a teenager due to having a little bit of acne. These days I still follow the three steps but have changed products over time. I do know that I need to give myself a mask a little more often which is something I always forget.xx

Hi Trishie! Thanks for visiting my blog, you have a lovely space here. I have been using a Swiss Botanical Range (completely natural, eco conscious and vegan) for about 3 years, it is called Arbonne. I love it so much, that I have signed up to be a consultant in the last week.

Would you like me to send you some samples to try?

You can have a look at their online shop at

https://www.arbonneinternational.com.au/shop_online/shopOnline.asp.

You would need a pin to shop there, mine is 613029296, if you are interested. xxx

I've also noticed that my skin routine had to change majorly from my teens to my twenties. Haven't seen this brand here before but it sounds quite lovely. You're so lucky to have such good glowing skin :)

I've started using a serum too. I love it because it smells like an orangesicle. It sounds weird, but I love it. :)

Sounds like awesome product! I've definitely found that my skin has started to get dryer as I get older, so I'm always on the lookout for more products that will be more hydrating!

You look gorgeous as always! I'm in my early thirties too. My current routine is in a state of flux at the moment as I struggle to find products that don't irritate my skin. I had never had problems until about 18months ago. My biggest challenge is reacting to sunscreen. These do sound lovely. I don't think I've ever tried these brands before.

Thanks for the heads up on these products, will have to see if I can get hold of them here in Asia!

I have to admit I'm a little lazy with my skincare routine, thnk it's time to put in a little more effort...

Diva In Me said...

This sounds like a good product for Asian skin. I'm always stuck when it comes to beauty regime. I've combination skin and acne occasionally. I wish to use a richer product for night (without getting acne), yet I can't really. But yea, through the years, it has changed gradually to anti-wrinkle creams! =D

Hi Trishie

I tried to respond to your email, but unfortunately it keeps coming back as undeliverable, so I am responding here :). Yes, you are right, it is a great product for me to become a consultant. I am only a wek into it, and having a lot of fun learning all about the company. Yes, anytime you would like some samples, let me know! Have an awesome weekend.

I've been eyeing these two products from A'Kin for a while so I'm pleased that you wrote a review. I'll definitely give them a try after I'm finished with the Trilogy lotion. I've found that natural skincare from NZ and Australia are absolutely incredible and very well priced.

I've always been good about skincare, now though I find I include my neck in the routine more. I'm only 26 but I was told that women often forget their necks, and concentrate on their face. And whilst they're face looks great, their necks really give everything away! Eeks!
