But since I made it my mission to wear dresses as part of my 12 things for 2012, I did make special effort this year. On a number of days when I'm feeling extra brave, I did throw on the following winter dresses over thick tights and then proceed to add layer after layer after layer.

I am a dress fanatic! I love that you made a "vow" to wear more!!! I get teased for wearing them so much, but for me they are so much more comfortable than jeans or pants, and these are pretty;)
My favourites for winter are sweater and knitted dresses. The only disadvantage is I have to wait for winter to wear them.
Beautiful dresses! Regardless of the season, I prefer dresses to trousers and skirts.
I'm very much a boots, jeans & jacket girl in winter. I have found that dresses in winter don't work for me because I hate fussing with all the layers, my dog's hair sticks to the tights, and I feel the cold too much! I love that you made a concerted effort to wear them this year as part of your challenges. Would you do it again next year?
Cute dresses! haha you should do an outfit of the day with dresses in the winter. I actually hardly ever wear dresses.
Such pretty dresses! I wear mine in the winter over thick woollen tights or leggings, and over a fine knit black polo-neck/roll-neck sweater. Sounds weird but looks good - sweater has to be really fine knit though or I look fat. Keeps me snug, then add warm boots and a scarf - toasty. :-)
I love wearing dresses but I agree it can be a bit tricky in the winter months - especially since I get cold very easily. I keep persisting though!:-)
Love the dresses!! I am also lazy when it comes to dresses, both summer and winter. Because jeans+t -shirt is such an easy combo!! But I am also trying to wer more dresses.

yes, i do find wearing dresses in winter hard. I like to keep warm so im usually in jeans and a warm jumper lol. i just save the dresses for summer really...
Been a fan of dresses only in the last few years, but I wear them all season now. For me, tights and boots for sure with those dresses, for starters, in the winter... Those dresses are pretty!

Our winters can get something like -30 celcius ! Then I don't feel like wearing a dress.. But on just slightly chilly days tights or leggings underneath go well :)

A lovely selection of dresses. As somebody who lives in jeans, I have made a pledge to myself to wear dresses this autumn/winter. At least with tights, I don't feel too conscious of having the old legs out.
I should make the same vow! I always think to wear them in the summer but I get too lazy to shave my legs. Eeek! Too much?
I do great with wearing dresses in the fall with tights, but come winter I can't manage it. I hate being cold so its jeans or black pants for work all winter long for me. Not exactly chic, but I'd rather be cozy.

I forget that it is winter there! I love dresses but do find it hard in cold seasons to throw it on too. It does make for a nice change though from jeans. :)

Wow those are some gorgeous dresses! It really makes me wish I was girlier and wore more dresses--but I just feel like I look about 7 years old when I do :P It's probably because I'm so used to wearing jeans all the time though
Nope! I wear dresses all year.
Even when I used to live in Berlin and it's -15 degrees I would still wear dresses.
Get yourself tights, wooly tights, socks, legwarmers and proper winter boots.
And also a hat. When head and feet are warm you will be fine.
how smart is that! I do not find them tricky to wear in the winter because I have so many tights and leg warmers and what not from dance =)

Yes, it's tricky. But I hate wearing pants so I try to make it work :) Uniqlo heat-tech tights were my weapon of choice last year; this year, I'm looking for a big coat with a faux fur collar to add to the mix! :)
I'm with you here. I don't work in an office so my dresses tend to be either casual or more suited to cocktails or weddings. I used to layer sweater dresses more but lately, I've been sticking to pants more.
