12 things: new recipes

Can you believe it's week 32 of the 2012? Only 20 more weeks to go (and recipes to try) before I complete my 12 things for 2012. I am super excited!

Possibly because I'm more than halfway through this component of my 12 things, I'm finding new joying in searching for recipes and cooking with them. I'm starting to opt for dishes that are not only yummy but also visually appealing. I don't want pictures of ugly food on my blog!

Anyway, here are my 6 dishes in the last 6 weeks.
Week 27 - Spicy chilli pork soup
Week 28 - Spiced fish with sesame ginger noodles
Week 29 - Smoked chicken and pesto pasta
Week 30 - Garlic and tomato fish stew
Week 31 - Gnocchi with smoked salmon, spinach and blue cheese
Week 32 - Braised pork belly
Stu has requested they be added to our recipe stockpile, so we get to enjoy them regularly in the future - which is a pretty good indication they tasted great. Hopefully by the end of the year we would have built up a repertoire of trusty favourite recipes that we can fall back on.

Have you tried any new recipes lately?

Yes, I guess I should start looking out for recipes, but I've been really too lazy. Nothing's ever exciting in the supermarket...
But these dishes look great!

Wow--I'm so envious of your cooking skills! I can't cook to save my life (as evident by the cornbread MIX that I miserably failed at earlier tonight :/). That being said, I really want to try that salmon, spinach, and blue cheese dish. I LOVE blue cheese...and salmon...and spinach :P

That's so great that you're doing this. So inspiring! I have hardly cooked at all this summer...too much back and forth between the city and the beach house. Looking forward to being back in the city this fall so I can cook and visit the green market often :) xoxo
