Tea party

I have many fond memories of childhood tea parties with my friends Barbie, Little Pony and Carebear. We would sip 'tea', munch on imaginary cakes and exchange gossip on Ken and my brother's Star War figurines.

Now that I'm all grown up, it seems nothing much has changed. On the weekend, I played tea party with some of my favourite friends and had a ton of fun.
But instead of imaginary cakes, I made us an apple cake (recipe coming soon!).
And a no-bake strawberry tart. This one was easy and involved cream cheese. Yum.
My friends brought meringues, tiramisu and danishes and we spent hours devouring copius amounts of sugar and tea. Which probably explains why we were all pretty giggly and silly. On Sunday morning, I actually woke up with a headache. Sugar hangover? Is there such a thing?

I was big in to my imaginary tea parties as a girl too - I was just VERY lucky to have a little sister who was happy to play along and be consumed in my imaginary world. Maybe thats why I have a healthy obsession now as an adult with high teas? haha Love these pics, the food & dainty tea cups are gorgeous.

Adult tea parties are so much better than the ones we pretended to have when we were little.. Real food is so much better than that plastic stuff with velcro on it! Haha.

I have a huge addiction to teacups right now. I keep buying them even though I've already accumulated quite a collection. They are just to cute and fun to drink out of (even if your not sipping on tea).
