Moments from the weekend

Wore pearls.
Afternoon tea to sweeten the day. This is an apple custard tea cake I made. Recipe coming soon!
Earth hour. Experienced life by candlelight for an hour
End of daylight savings. Turned the clock back and enjoyed a lazy late sleep-in without the guilt.

Watching the sun play shadows on my curtain. So pretty!
I cannot believe how quickly the weekend went, I put on a pretty pearl top and baked. Yes, baked. Who says pearls are only for special occasions? And then I sat down and treated myself to some afternoon tea. The tea cake didn't look quite like the one pictured in the recipe book but it tasted so good it didn't bother me one bit.

It was also earth hour on Saturday; I'm in two minds about this. I read that candles produce more carbon emissions then electric lights but then I remind myself earth hour is really about awareness and I hope I am doing my little bit in creating awareness.

Daylight savings ended! Less sun in the days ahead for me makes me a wee bit sad but I did enjoy my lazy sleep in on Sunday morning. Then I walked past the guest room and saw the lovely shadows the morning sun made on the curtains. Nature is just wonderful, don't you think?

Your shirt is very pretty... and you remind me that I should make too. It's hard to find the motivation to bake when you're not allowed to eat any of your goodies.
