It starts off innocently enough - a group of teenagers living the hippie life on a farm, playing the guitar, gardening, living simply. And then you start to get a sense of the sinister undertones and realize that there is something terribly wrong with the picture through a series of flashbacks that occur in the mind of Martha aka Marcy May.I watched this on the plane en route from Perth to Sydney; drawn to it because I was curious about Elizabeth Olsen as an actress and also because it received some great reviews. Well, I was not disappointed. The movie was beautifully shot, thought provoking and also quite disturbing. I could not tear my eyes away from the screen. Even in the absence of a neat conclusion, I though it was a good and satisfactory ending to the story.
Have you seen it yet? Do you plan to?

i loved this movie! really well-acted and shot. it's amazing how young the writer / director is. he basically did it for no money.
Oh I really want to see this, it's out at the moment so maybe I will. Glad you liked.
