The birds got stuck into the fig tree while we were away in Perth, so we've got a much smaller crop than I'd hoped. 
I have always aspired to do fancy things with them; toss in a salad with goats cheese, bake them wrapped in prosciutto. But somehow I always end up eating them fresh - straight off the tree, skin and all. I love the sweet, crunchy insides, it is such a pleasurable eating experience.How do you eat your figs?

YUM! this makes me very excited! I've never been much of a fig person, but recently I've been craving them like mad! I'd love to do fancy things with them, too... but - just like pears - I always just end up devouring them raw :)

Delicious! I love figs! I remember a particularly juicy fig tart at a restaurant years ago (I've forgotten the name of it since unfortunately). I love the idea of eating them wrapped in prosciutto, and I love love the idea of eating them straight off the tree! :)
those look pretty and unlike any fig i have ever seen. honestly, i have never cooked with figs, only eaten dishes that have them in them in restaurants.
i'll have to look around and see if we have any in our nice grocery store.
