Claypot cooking adventure

Inspired by one of the claypot recipes in Neil Perry's latest cookbook, I rushed out and bought myself a claypot. I was excited at the thought of making a claypot meal, just like the way my dad and grandpa used to back home in Singapore. I have such vivid memories of them squatting next to the outdoor stove in the backyard, fanning the claypot; the smells, the sight, it evokes some very fond childhood memories. The recipe in mind was claypot chicken and glass noodles. Very simple, just stir fry some garlic and spring onions, add chicken, add shaoxing, sugar and light soy. Add water, bring to boil, then add fried tofu and glass noodles. A warm delicious one pot meal. This is the first of many claypot cooking adventures to come, I promise!

Mmm. Looks good.
I miss those times of fanning the coal for that outdoor claypot cooking my grandmother used to do.

I lived in S'pore for about 7 yrs, so I do miss the food there. :) Can you make black pepper crab? I so want to eat it right now...

Oh Music...you're making me so hungry now (even though it's 11am and way too early to be thinking about black pepper crab). No unfortunately I haven't tried making crabs before but may just have to now you've put that idea in my head. hehe.

Hyatt in Perth did a Festival of Crab last year, black pepper crab was there! Yum. Ate loads. I think it's not crab season yet here. Can you ask your family/friends how to make those and let me know? Please? Please?! Hehehe.... Thanks...
