Tucked in a quiet street in Darlinghurst, is Govinda's restaurant and movie room. After hearing raving reviews about their buffet dinners and their ultra comfortable boutique cinema, I decided to check it out for myself, and dragged Olivia along as well.
We started our evening with a vegetarian buffet dinner. I'm not usually a fan of vegetarian dishes but Govinda's totally won me over. The broccoli curry was super creamy and delicious and the deep fried cauliflower tasted just like fish (very good fish, in fact). There was also an array of salads, penne pasta, other curries and my favourite - Dhal soup. It had a great consistency, not too thick nor thin, and was a burst of flavour of tumeric, a variety of vegetables, dhal and freshly chopped coriander. I had to have 2 serves of the soup even though I was busting at the belt.Next up, the movie room, I was more excited by the room itself than the movie! Not your regular cinema, the movie room is a relatively small room that offers seating on huge sofa beds, so we kicked off their shoes, stretched out and really made ourselves at home. Such a great experience!
For $28.80, the dinner/movie package certainly offered good value for a great night out, both Olivia and I agreed that we'll be back again.
